Pay: From $16.50 per hour
Responsibilities:
Furniture Inspection & Setup:
- Inspect student housing furniture (beds, mattresses, desks, chairs, wardrobes, etc.) for quality and ensure it meets University standards
- Assemble and disassemble furniture using tools such as wrenches and mallets
- Arrange furniture in rooms per setup requirements for student move-in and campus events
Repairs & Warehouse Work:
- Repair furniture using basic hand tools (impact drills, screwdrivers, hammers, staple pullers, etc.)
- Load and unload furniture parts
- Assist with periodic furniture replacement and refurbishment projects
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with a designated partner throughout the summer
- Follow instructions and communicate effectively with the team and managers to stay on schedule
Required Skills:
- Strong attention to detail to ensure furniture quality standards are met
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items and perform repetitive bending and lifting
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
- Basic knowledge of or willingness to learn how to use tools like mallets, wrenches, drills, and screwdrivers
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow directions
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
